Cecelia McClellan and her late husband Chris planted Menefee vineyard in 2004. Menefee Vineyard is planted in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range, at the outer limits of where Pinot Noir will ripen.
Located within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, this site ripens slowly and is typically later to harvest. Red volcanic Jory soil and cool temperatures limit yield, resulting in grapes with intensity and a unique balance of flavor and acidity. The vineyard characteristically gives us aromas of dark berries intertwined with fresh cut wood and cedar, with unique flavors of blueberries, black cherries and raspberries. The finish is long and brings an encore of blue fruit.
Menefee is managed by Buddy Beck and Angel Martinez of Advanced Vineyard Systems.
Our Menefee Vineyard Pinot Noir is Pommard clone from Block 2 and Dijon 667 clones from Block 2.
